Atlanta, Asheville, Blue Ridge Mountain!

I took a road trip from Baltimore to Atlanta. I went with my girlfriend to go see my favorite We Are Scientists. It was a eventful trip. We left Sunday morning and arrived back Wednesday morning. I had a amazing time and a incredible few days.

I left for Atlanta Sunday morning as soon as I got off of work at the hostel around 7:00 am May 18th. Kim picked me up and we started the drive there. Kim and I went snack crazy at the dollar store the day before and picked up lots of fresh fruit too. She decked out a back seat bed for me which turned out I wouldn't need it because I feel 1 of the number 1 travelers rules is to stay awake with your fellow traveler when driving far distances! I mean you have to keep them entertained so no one crashes!!!

We brought my camcorder and filmed the scenery as we passed through DC, Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Georgia. We had mini dance parities in the car and had a fantastic time! We had about 1000 pee breaks because we both infamously have small bladders. We took a few breaks and rested here and there.

We finally made it to Atlanta we were staying with a man named Angel I messaged on Couch Surfers. We met Angel at Octane Coffee Bar and Lounge. The place was so awesome inside. He was presenting a power point in front of a large crowd inside the coffee shop when we met him. After he presented he came up to us and we all introduced our self. It was easy for Angel to recognize Kim and I as for her and I were both wear blue button ups with white polka dots. This is where he discovered Kim and I were not just friends which I told him we were so I had a better chance of staying there. We hit it off great in the first 5 minutes we met him and he gladly gave us the key to his house and we drove there without him as for he wanted to stay at the coffee shop to continue to watch the presentations.

We arrived to his house and WOW it was nice! Everything was painted calm colors. It felt like a fancy hippy house. We cleaned up and headed out to the concert.

We made it to the concert venue (The Earl) to see WE ARE SCIENTISTS. We got inside and saw Keith the lead singer immediately. We started a amazing conversation for the 1000x time. We walked out to grab some pad thai it a really fantastic restaurant. I paid for our dinner and we headed back to the music venue to catch the opening act Paws. They were so good! Then the moment came and W.A.S walked on stage and damn they were so fucking good!!! I ran into their touring drummer Keith Carne which him and I have been chatting through email for a while now I got to say goodbye to band and offer Keith C. a drink on me next time I am in Brooklyn and he excepted.

We left the venue all pumped and made it back to the house. Slept. Woke up and finally got to know Angel a little better he took us to get breakfast at Home Grown. It was good. He then gave us a short tour of ATL. He took us to a car dealer ship so he could buy a car we were there for 2 1/2 hours it was ridiculous. We hated him from there on out. We got back to his place made some food and headed off to the mountains

We made it to Stone Ridge Mountain we climbed to the very top, did some fun sight seeing. Skipped some rocks and enjoyed the view. We would then leave to meet up with Kim's friend Maggie and her boyfriend Ken at Yeah Burger! It was so damn delicious I was super impressed I bought a veggie dog, fries, and a pitcher of beer. It was damn great meanwhile as we waited for her friend some woman hit Maggies car, Ken came over to inform us she was hit. Fortunately it wasn't too bad. Just some scratches. We all caught up and we were on our way back to Angels. We hung out with his cat and then passed out. The next morning we jet out of there and headed our way to Asheville.

We were driving for awhile and finally made it to Asheville, North Carolina. If you haven't been it is hippy central, with a ton of music, vintage clothing stores, and local business. It is amazing!!! We got dinner at Asheville Pizza and Brewing which is without question the coolest themed restaurant I have ever been to. It had Star Wars murals, classic movies as tiles, arcades in the back room. Everything was so cool looking. Kim had a jalapeno IPA beer and I had one called The Escape Artist. We ordered a delicious cheese pizza. Hung out there and relaxed for a while and started driving around Asheville and filmed it was cool and a great bonding experience. We headed to

Blue Ridge Mountain. We drove around that mountain forever. It was so incredible and such an amazing time spending your time seeing some of the best sites in the world with someone you really love. I had such a great time doing that with Kim it was so amazing. We filmed and took a ton of pictures.

Kim and I left and started our drive officially back home, we made it to the board of Virginia and North Carolina. We stopped at a rest stop there hung out with some evil cats. We napped in the car then headed back to Baltimore for a big sprint. We made it home at 7:30 am. The trip was so incredible I loved spending every moment with my girlfriend and couldn't of asked for a better time!
