Productive Days

Hostel High

I've been having productive days. If you call getting drunk with your boss watching Arsenal games before you work 3:30pm-11:30pm productive than you can count me in that category. I have been doing some wonderful things around the hostel such as setting up monthly shows at the hostel and having BmoreArt.com promote, and City Paper take photos of the shows, as well as having a friend who works for Kind Bars drop off boxes full of them for the hostel and the show. I've also recently transformed the hostel into a BNote bank and a new friend came in and exchanged $300 (US dollars) for $330 BNotes. That was cool! (and a whole other story). I also went out to the Orioles game with my co-workers which was paid for by the company. That was also lovely, and lastly I'm getting a FREE 5 night stay at HI-Seattle (in a private room) woooo!!!

Here is a video of the most recent hostel show featuring Surf Harp, Sean Michael Wilson, Raindeer, and myself (Pelvis Presley)... I should mention during the time of this show the hostel was booked out by boy scouts. I should also mention this show was strictly donate what you can. We earned $50 in door sales. Fantastic!

 BNote TIME!
I have a new name in Baltimore from what I've heard from quite a few business owners in this city "you're the BNote guy". It feels nice. I have spent most of this year reaching out to all the businesses on the BNote directory (225) and recruiting many businesses to start accepting BNotes (15) as well as being the main admin to update the BNote social media websites, as well as table events with the BNote recently (Eco Fest, The Fitzgerald Popup Market) and get paid stipends in BNotes to spend at all these wonderful local businesses. I got my haircut, buy dinner for my girlfriend and I, buy drinks for me and my friends all in BNotes. It's amazing and I love it.

Chris... This awesome guy contacted us through the BNotes Facebook page and informed us he was creating a documentary on living off ONLY BNotes for 7 days. He did a fantastic job! It was a very insightful read, and incredible journey. I was fortunate to spend his last (7th) day with him using only BNotes. It was so fun, and very helpful to our local business. We met at Golden West Cafe our bill came out to $26 which was all paid and tipped in BNotes. That's where our discussions started on how local economics could truly help and sustain a much better economy then federal dollars. We left Hampden and made our way over to Liam Flynn's once again paid only in BNotes, after having a few drinks we got lost in topic to how bring awareness to local economics in your city. We came up with the idea to survey everyone in the bar on "Have you ever heard of the BNote?" more than half the bar heard of the BNote from one place or another which is astonishing. It was very fascinating to find out more people know about it than what we thought. We then made our way to end the evening at Out Takes an ice cream shop that not only accepts but also is a cambio (bank) that hold BNotes for exchange. Chris, myself, and the owner got into many discussions about the currency and came to the conclusion is the education factor should be our focal point to moving forward with the BNote. More people need to realize why, how, and where should people use these dollars at. It was such a fun day, and incredible learning experience for the both of us. Chris is a great writer. Pit stop to Ocean City
My grandfather (my mother's father) has been in and out of the hospital for a while now. He is the little bit of blood related relative I have left. Kimberly and I took a day trip up to Seaford. We visited him in the hospital which was nice. I was able to spend much needed time with him after not seeing him for almost a whole year. I got in contact with my cousin who lives in Salisbury (no relation to my grandfather) and asked to spend the night at his apartment. He agreed. We all went out on the town of the Eastern Shore of Maryland. It was actually really delightful, especially taking our night to Tall Tales Brewery. Where Kimberly and I got a flight of 7 different beers and the cups were HUGE for a flight. They were very delicious beers. We then made our way down to Ocean City. We had a few drinks there, walked around the beach, and then came back to my cousin's apartment. It was a nice night. We woke up and got breakfast, and head on out. Kim and I hit the road, walked around OC, got some popcorn, watched a kite festival, went to assateague, visited my grandfather one last time and had dinner at Tall Tales Brewery again. That was like $20 tip, great food and deliciousness all around. We made out way back home and dusted the sand out of our suitcases.

I am very much enjoying the new We Are Scientists record Tv En Francias Sous Le Mar. I highly recommend all readers to take a listen, especially if you enjoy under the sea sounds.

Seattle trip!
I am busing from Baltimore to Seattle and back leaving May 18th. I am so thrilled. I plan to blog, and film my trip to make it into a short road trip film. I'm getting a free 5 night stay at HI-Seattle. I know no one in Washington state but I couldn't be anymore excited. I will also be going through 9 new states, therefor once I step foot and breathe the air of those states I will add them to my list and be 9 steps closer to reaching my goal of stepping foot in all 50 states by the age of 30. I'm at 36. I'll be at 45 after I'm finished this trip.

Lastly I took part in being an activist in the community during the tough times of the Baltimore Riots. I played a set at a show put together in Washington Monument park. The show was called #ThisIsBaltimore, it was tons of fun and had a great turn out. I also did the peace marches around the city, seeing a lot of friends take action as well as, seeing Anderson Cooper in person! It's been amazing seeing the city come together as a friendly community again. We all celebrated by doing drunk karaoke at Windup Space with plenty of friends. It's been some good times.
