I Won The Price Is Right!
I WON THE PRICE IS RIGHT!!!
I am beyond excited about this! I won some great trips. If you saw the episode today (January 17th, 2014) you would of heard the words this morning "James Lane, Come On Down!"

You first get tickets to be on it, sign some papers, they give you a number and you wait in line for a few hours as they take pictures of you and take copies of your information, once that is all over they audition you and that's when they figure out who is going to be the lucky ones who gets called for the day. I obviously knew I had to show him my most fun, energetic, and yet smartest self I could possibly be. He approaches me. I high 5 him and say Hello my name is JAMES LANE and I want to win The Price Is Right TODAY! He ask what do you do James Lane? I told him I am starting to write my book of travel archives, he replies, wow! I bet you would really love to win a trip today, then I yell "YEAH! Give me them all", he laughs. I high 5 him again, he moves on to the next person (some guy wearing a St. Louis shirt). I felt in my bones right there, I was going to get called up. They bring us in studio and there is a whole group of 20-30 college kids all wearing the same shirt, and then they sit Thom and I up front then some woman that works for CBS comes up to me and says "Hey we need to move you over here" I definitely felt I was going to get called then if they're moving me around now. They sit us more in the back. They called down contestant number 1 then onto contestant number 2 onto 3, then I'm shaking more then ever before They flip the name card around and HOLY SHIT! It says James Lane on it.
I was the fourth contestant called down. Being in that moment makes the world feel like it's stopped as you're trying to guess a bid in under 30 seconds till you finally get it right and get called up on stage......which is exactly what happened to me!
I made the right bid on a brand new Canon Camera and bid $1000 on it. As I walked up on stage with my 1 month grown mustache and my Baltimore t-shirt. Drew Carry says to me "So, you're from B-more?". I smile and say yes I love Baltimore, Maryland. My game is where I had to pick the proper price for the right trip *It was so easy!*. The two trips were one to San Francisco/Alcatraz the other trip is to Lake Tahoe. The crowd cheered "Tahoe!" so I said Lake Tahoe.....They were right....I WON AGAIN! Drew sends me off with the models next to my two trips as they congratulate me with hugs and kisses. I get grabbed up by Aisha Tyler and her and I start the James Lane Aisha Tyler victory dance. They sit me down as I watch the last contestant get called, very ironically the last contestant was a guy from St. Louis I was standing right next to in line with all day long and he wins some major prizes then they bring the 3 of us all back on stage to spin the wheel. This hispanic lady goes first she spins a 80, the guy from St. Louis goes next he spins a 80, I am completely out of it and not paying attention to their spins at all but instead thinking who I wanted to say Hi to back at home (Thom, Mike, Lindsey, Dana, and my aunt who just survived cancer) I spin. BAM! Another 80............ yes it was a 3 way tie, the crowd is on the edge of their seats. The woman spins 30, the guy spins 65, I spin 60....yes I lost by 5. Do I care? Not really! I am more then ecstatic and if you ask anyone there I won the best prizes offered on the show that day, TRUST ME. Anyway I head down off the stage and everyone start giving me high fives, and random people yelling my name, it was incredible. The show ended with the guy from St. Louis winning the whole showcase but his prizes still weren't better then mine, except for the car he won. They took us all into the back and they make us sign confidential papers basically stating we can't talk about it or tell anyone about this till the show aire's. They give us the cards our name was on when we got called I place my name sticker on there and I leave so excited with a deep secret in my body for the next couple of months.
What I Won!
A round trip airfare to San Fran for 2 including a 5 star hotel, $50 daily meal card, a rental car, and a 1 night tour to Alcatraz.
A round trip airfare to Lake Tahoe for 2 including 5 star hotel, a few games of golf, and jet ski driving.
& last I won a brand new 2014 Canon Camera
A week later I left LA to head to Florida because I had no where to live. It was one of the crappiest moments of my life I was exhausted from not sleeping. I caught a last minute Greyhound as I was driving through Knife City, Arizona. My bus caught on fire!!! I made it back Florida called Greyhound customer service and am now guaranteed a $245 voucher to use on any bus at any time with Greyhound.
I also now work at HI - Hostel Baltimore, which is very good for me because I am allowed to stay at any HI - Hostel in the world for free! In other words I have a lot of trips, a lot of free things coming my way.
What's Next For Me?
Well on the show I mentioned I'm writing a book of trav
el archives, advice, and coincidental winnings including the Mercedes story, Price Is Right, Matthew McConaughey Instagram account, etc.
but for the meantime I'm trying to get local news and media to post about my story and hopefully inspire people everywhere to go for your dreams. I also have been emailing websites like VICE and This American Life to post up some of my stories. I have many different ideas on what I want to do next but the one thing I know I want for sure, is to get media attention, get money, and give back to all my friends and family. This is one of the most exciting times of my life. I hope everyone is happy and thinks good thoughts about this. Continue to follow my blogs as I post more about getting wrapped in media projects, and updates me writing my book. Thank you everyone for reading! p.s The reason I have that ridiculous mustache is because my roommate and I had a bet to see who would grow out their beard longer, and I figure since I knew I was going to be in the audience of The Price Is Right the day before I would just shave it and keep the mustache to keep the bet going.

Aftermath
My Aunt having to have her chest cut open and have open heart surgery is the reason I came back
I had the life out in California although I was struggling at times and was not certain
where I going to sleep some nights I still made it work
I have three trips to use to go back to California this year anytime I like
from there I will continue to pursue to be the best and gain attention in media
till my name has fame and fortune behind it
The reason I am so determined to become well known and become rich is for a few reasons
first and for most to give back to all my family and friends who ever supported me and gave me a chance
of showing who I really am
two I can never see myself actually sticking to a real job for the rest of my life I demand freedom and
never having to work ever again
three I want to disappear off the face of the Earth I obviously am social and outgoing however
I hate so many people and disagree with the way the world works right now I can"t stand it
I want to go down as a legend and have people see me who received fame for the right reasons
I feel a lot of people that know me or know of me respect me a lot after hearing my stories and
what I have to say! Because when I have something important to say I make sure the people around me
hear it no matter if they want to accept the truth or not
I want to write two books a biography and a book of my travel archives both I honestly believe would do amazing
The reason I think this is because if you read this far then that alone gives me enough reason to believe
I believe in myself and think anyone who ever says something different to what I believe is dead wrong
I have what it takes to make I had what it took to make it big since I was born
and for whatever reason if I am wrong I can at least say I tried because in reality
I gave it all that I had and that's the best anyone can do
