Last Minute Boston/Exeter trip
Hello readers!!!
I have had a crazy month, seriously wow. It's been nuts. I managed to lose my new job, girlfriend, and apartment within a week and yet make a killer come back and get two out of the three back which is nice. This doesn't need to be detailed really. I'm just happy to have some of the normal(ness) back in my life.
The great news section is I have officially made it to two new states in America making my goal come closer to all 50. I've now been to 36 states! Wooo, and here is the story...
I took a last minute trip to Boston, Kittery (Maine), Exeter (New Hampshire), Plymouth (MA), and Providence (Rhode Island).
It was awesome! My friend Mike just bought a car and he wanted to visit some LA friends so we left Baltimore Thursday (11/13/14) as soon as I got out of class and hit the road. We drove through NYC. We stopped in Providence, RI for fast food Arby's dinner. We finally made it up to Plymouth and hung out with Mike's friend Bobby. We just talked for awhile and he showed us around a little bit then we crashed at Bobby's parents house. They owned a big house with a farm that had horse, chickens, etc. It was cool. He had a nice dog playing the horses as well as a fully family (mom, dad, brother, and sister) working at the farm to live there for free I think. They were nice and gave us some insight on what to do while up this part of the coast.
We said goodbye and continued to hit the road. We drove through Boston and did a little bit of sight seeing. We finally made it to New Hampshire to meet up with Mike's friend John, however he wasn't home so we had to kill time so we went to Kittery, ME. We just drove around and checked out the old towns. We came back down and headed to Exeter, NH. That's where we met up with John. We hung out at his house then he took us to a freezing cold beach and we just walked around it and explored. We went on this really long pier that was made out of stone, then we went to this old bomb bunker and walked inside of that. It was very creepy. We got inside of it and it looked like a death dungeon with condoms, empty beer cans, and graffiti everywhere. We decided to leave the creepiness and go to Boston for the night. We went there went to a bar called Lower Depths, hung out around the city. We went to some dance club right next to Fenway Park, had a goodnight full of dancing. John's frat brother decided it was a good idea to buy us unlimited drinks. They just kept handing us beers. It was a nice welcoming way to get to know someone you just met. We stayed at John's frat brothers house. We woke up got breakfast at Jay's Deli. It was super delicious! I highly recommend this place if in Boston. We went back to Exeter hung out with John then took him back to Boston to catch his plane back to LA. Mike and I hit the road from Boston around 5pm and made our way back to Baltimore at 1am.
It was a cool, brief trip. I enjoyed my time.
The current news is I'm finishing up my semester at school. I'm still proudly working at the hostel. My 25th birthday is coming up and I'm seeing Michael Cera's new play with my girlfriend on my bday. We're staying at HI - NY fo free. We're also going to hit up some Williamsburg bars which will be dope.
I have no clue which direction my life is heading right now I'm just going with it and it's kinda interesting.
I think my goal for next year is to take a bus from Baltimore to Seattle so I can knock off some of the other states I haven't been to and once I reach all 50 then I can really get started on this book.
Thank you for reading.
Stay tuned for my 2014 blow out blog next month.
